Places to eat
& to be entertained
As one of the premiere food bowls in Australia, the Southern Forest food region is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and rolling hills. It’s little wonder why the Manjimup region is a foodie’s paradise.
The locals have known about it for years. Maybe it’s the clear, crisp air. Or the extraordinary fertility of the soils. Maybe it’s the 365 growing days a year. Or the purity of the rainfall. Or perhaps it’s a combination of all. Every time you bite into an apple, slice an avocado, or are tempted by truffle or marron, or any of the other 50 varieties of fruits, vegetables, meats, nuts or wines that are produced in the region, you’ll get an understanding of what the locals have known for years.

hound and hunter
Founded by the WA Truffle Collective, Hound and Hunter Fine Foods is led by truffle grower, Gavin Booth, and acclaimed chef and truffle grower, David Coomer.
Living in truffle country, they wanted to find a way to create a new kind of truffle product, one they couldn’t find elsewhere. Totally delicious and honest to the subtlety and deep savoury nuance of the ingredient. The real deal.
We started the Deli & Test Kitchen as a place to develop ideas and share new products, both with and without truffle. Everything we make is rooted in quality ingredients, time and our community of local farming families.
